Senior Manager, Quality Assurance

Rockwell Automation is looking for a Senior Manager with a passion for building a high-performance organization to drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodology and Design for Excellence (DfX) processes early in our New Product Introduction Process (NPI).  The incumbent will be responsible for developing and attracting talent to help drive flawless NPI and partnering with our business units and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) organization to integrate best practices and lessons learned to drive a customer-centric quality culture.

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with Business Units and ISG to get buy-in and support for NPI Quality initiatives
  • Ensure robust APQP and DfX practices are implemented early in design and development  
  • Continuously drives improvements utilizing modern practices and tools and visibly measuring what matters
  • Effectively develops high performing organizational leaders for NPI along with succession planning to prepare future leaders
  • Provide input for planning and execution of strategic NPI Quality initiatives
  • Partnering with Post Release Quality team to implement lessons learned in design and development to reduce and eliminate repeat failures

Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrated leading transformational change on New Products  
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and drive process improvement across multiple functional areas and product life cycle
  • Has effectively led quality assurance organizations, preferably in NPI, Supplier Quality or Product Quality
  • Demonstrated customer centric decision making and actions
  • Technical literacy, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Diverse knowledge of inspection control methods, techniques, and standards
  • Technical literacy, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to lead through others
  • Experience using continuous improvement tools such as 5s, 8D, Standard Work, Kanban, JIT, Kaizen and 5Y

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree OR typically requires a minimum of 5 years management experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required as we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
  • Six Sigma and Continuous training and experience
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning and Reliability training and experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • At least ten years of increasing levels of leadership within a Product Quality organization Working knowledge of project management principles.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with product and software design engineering, operations, and customer management functions.
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
